Welcome to the Denise Taylor Cancer Trust
The Trust was founded by Denise Taylor who was diagnosed with cancer in April 2008.
Despite her own challenges, Denise wanted to help fellow cancer sufferers with the financial burdon that came with the disease cancer, such as;
Consequences of loss of wages if self employed
Selflessy, Denise enlisted the help of colleagues and friends and set up "Big D Against the Big C" (Denise Taylor Cancer Trust), which would assist fellow cancer sufferers by offering non repayable grants and ease crippling cost implications.
Referrals to the trust can be self-referrals, via Doctors surgery or via hospital.
The trust relies on the generosity of businesses retailers and companies for donations, which are then used to raise money for the trust and so far we have been fortunate enough to raise £40,000 thanks to the support of businesses, voluntary and community organisations and local residents.
Denise sadly lost her fight with cancer in July 2010, however the board of trustees continues to work hard in an attempt to continue to raise further funding that will support local residents with their battle against cancer.
“The Trust would be proud and privileged to receive any donations, gifts or contributions you could offer to assist with our ongoing fund raising for people less fortunate and these will be generously given in the manner it was intended and in the name of our dear friend and mum Denise”
